well, "sorry" for the late report...

SAT
Gabe and I hooked up about 9, I launched from LochLomond, he from Brickyard.
We made our way over to marin islands, nothing on the outside channel, made a trip through the middle-- got a double on two nice fish.  Mine went about 24, his 28 and fat.  made a couple of passes through there for nothing else, then went to the inside channel-- wham!
what ensued was a couple of hours of non-stop hook ups for me.  Gabe with the flyrod was a little less lucky.  I managed about 25-30 on the day- up to 24, with lots in the 18-22" range.

SUN
With my right arm sore from fighting fish...launched at Brickyard at 6:30ish-- after casting topwater to the boiling stripers 20 feet from the beach for 15 minutes or so.  ChuckE showed up just after I launched (i was at 3 then), and we just proceeded to slay them. This day was insane- though most of the fish were small.  I'm sure I caught more than the day before, but lost count at about 8:30... :smt003 (I've got this huge crap eating grin right now!).  Fish up to about 22"...with most in the 15-18" range. We were off the water by 10, when the winds came up...

one of my goals this year was to catch 100 stripers-- umm...so...uh...need a new goal!
One thing to note: I noticed on friday afternoon (did I say I went out friday?).  The algae mats are starting to break loose- so the water will probably cloud up in a week or two - then we'll have to another week or two for it to clear.

:smt068 - Way to slay em! What were you trolling? Were there other PB in on the action?
I've got a friend whose on the fence on this whole yak thing. Getting into double digit fish would change his mind! When's the next time you're going, lemmee know.

there were only one or two other PBs- and not one that trolled the area we were in.  In my experience the PBs can't troll that area effectively, since the water is so shallow the motor sound spooks them a bit.   Pretty consistantly the yakers have out fished the PBs.

On sat- it would have been very difficult for a PB to get into the channel we were in-- entrance was about 2-3 feet and all exits were less than 2 feet!  of course, that's why all those stripers were stacked up in there...

as for what we were trolling-- blue-backed yozuri crystal minnows (with a "special" modification), and x-raps...
