You even got me excited I haven't paddled mine since Steelhead season. I'm taking it out this weekend where are you going?
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Night fishing for lmb at RS is temping. That moon looks nice. I hear shad fishing is hot on the American too. I'll probably head over to the Delta Meadows for some top water bass fishing.

Congratulations on an excellent choice. The last week of April, I got to meet and try out my Gulf Coast flotilla (two Mini-X's my fishing buddy stores in his garage there instead of towing boats from here to there and back), and we ended up having more fun just enjoying the kayaks than we did fishing. (We're both lifelong wade fishermen, and there are times we would have killed just for an old truck inner tube.) One thing to watch out for with the Mini-X, though: wind. We had an easy hour's paddle into a slight headwind for about 2.5 NM that turned into a 3-1/2 hour struggle when the wind picked up a bunch - gusts to 40 knots. I'm not sure having the X-factors there instead would have made that much difference in those conditions, though. The Mini-X is an absolute blast. If you enjoy yours half as much as we did, you're going to be hooked.

Al-
What a nice set of twins.  It was like X-mas unwrapping them I'm sure.  They have that new boat smell I'd hate to bet some nice fresh fish smell and scales and blood on them...... ah forget that you're going to have to draw first blood and get them smellin' nice and fishy.

My trip to Sly park is cancelled due to fire so we'll talking about heading to RS for a family kayak/picnic and let dad fish on Saturday.  if you're around we'll be at picnic lauch site after the dam. Yellow T140 and some SIKs.

Congratulations on the Twin Minis, Alfredo.  Minis are contagious.

I'm just an old newbie with a Hobie, but I see a Mini someday in my future for the family/guest boat.

The Hobie is great in it's way, and it's my perfect first main boat.

But since we can get two Minis' for the price of one Hobie (and maybe then some)...

Long story short,  I vote for Two Minis' (stackable) in every garage.  And then some.  .02 only.

Anyway, congratulations; sir.

You're right, the Mini- X is contagious.  We usually sell one to a family and then they come back for a second one.  I seriously believe that it is the best 9 foot sit-on-top on the market.  It's well designed, tracks well (for a 9 footer) and looks really good.  As far as I know it's the only 9 footer that had fishing in mind during its design process.  I special ordered a pink one for a lady the other day. She was stoked.  Anyone else up for a pink Mini-X?  :smt001

:smt006 Dang it, now you folks are giving me the dreaded Mini Fever.  Now I gotta rent one soon.
Is there anyone in the Mendocino/Van Damme area with a Mini who might want to yak with me and wants to test drive a little Hobie sometime?  My days off work are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Otherwise, I'm cleaning and  mowing at Van Damme full time, at least until Labor Day.  Work hours are from 0800 to 1630.  Could join in a sunset cruise at 5 oclock, if anyone's interested.

By the way, Van Damme is booked full this coming weekend (Memorial day).  Just a heads up from your humble maintenance guy.  Drive safe, and thanks for all the empty beer bottles; that's job security for me. :smt004

OK...I think this will be our last Mini. Andy/Kickin Bass dropped off my son's (Eric) kayak today.
The kayak looks great and Eric is sooo excited.  He'll be on the water tomorrow.

Thanks Andy!
