My fishing and outdoor buddy of 11 years passed away last night. And I wasn’t even there for his last moments because I’m still deployed.

I know some of you are probably thinking “it’s just a dog.” But he was the best dog anyone could ask for. He was a protector and a best friend. When my first son was born, he protected my son like it was his own. He was obedient and loving and he knew to be extra gentle with the kids.

You are missed already buddy...

Really sorry to hear the bad news.  My dog is my best friend.  Kayaks with me everywhere but the ocean.

It's hard to lose a companion and harder still if you can't be with them.  The sacrifices we ask you to make in our name takes the wind out of me sometimes  Thank you for your service; I am saddened by your loss.

Wish they could stay with us longer. Unfair that such perfect beings are on loan to us for so little time. Prayers of comfort to you and your family. Words don't suffice. Hope your next pal ('cause I assume there will be another) fills the empty spot we have when our puppers get called home.
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

Beautiful dog.  Be well and thank you for your call to guard our freedom.  I am sorry.

My condolences and thank you for your service.
My two pups are 12 and 13 now, and my son just turned 1.  I do hope my son gets to be with them a few more years because they are fantastic big sisters.

I'm in complete agreement with this. Lost my little pitty a little over a year ago, and still miss her tremendously. My condolences, RIP Achilles.

I lost my "little buddy" Azure the Parakeet last year. Man, I still miss that little 2 oz terror. So I do know where your coming from. It is hard when your friend is gone on, and your not there.
