I have one of these and it does come with a skeg that attaches to the bottom.  its not the greatest to paddle, so my father and I built a trolling motor mount that i put a 55lb thrust minn kota on.  attached a photo from a recent trip to Camanche.

Very cool! I will look into adding a trolling motor on mine if I cant get it to go straight by just paddling!

Thanks everyone for sharing your experience.

I had a Colorado and a small fin came with the package that went on the bottom of boat.  I was more like paddling a raft.  Would not buy one again.

Yea I know its pretty wide and probably doesnt track well. Is it so bad that I wouldn't be able to troll without a trolling motor?

Ill let you know how I like it.

My wife and I live in a small apartment and have no room to store a kayak. Turns out she enjoys fishing too so I've been looking for a tandem inflatable kayak. I came across this one on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J0S0JGS/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_8?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Good price and has decent reviews. I was wondering if anyone has personal experience or knows of anyone who has experience with this product. We obviously wouldn't take it to the ocean. mostly small lakes in the east bay (SC, Quarry, Del Valle).

Thanks,

David

For Sale / Re: Six Gill BlackFriday

Not a negative review!

I bought 2 of the drekar series reels and the drag malfunctioned on one of them after a couple uses. Some sand got lodged in the drag mechanism and it somehow caused a piece of aluminum to start grinding against the gears. I opened up the reel and found metal shavings. The drag still works but is no longer audible after I took out the mangled piece of metal.

I still very much like the reels despite this so I contacted sixgill for a replacement. They are sending me a new one, no questions asked!

Let me know if you guys have any issues with your reels. I am very happy with their customer service.

Small reservoir with a bunch of trout. Planted Lassen trout are fat and delicious. I live in Fremont so I frequent Quarry lakes and Shadowcliffs with my wife. Will be at SC this Sunday fishing from shore!

I dont know much about fishing reel brands but Im looking to buy a couple reels. How does this compare to Kast King? There is a similarly priced Kast King reel on Amazon Prime.

Thanks,

Fish Talk / Re: I can't catch a trout! Help!

Trolling with Kastmasters is effective.  Picture is from Shadow Cliffs yesterday, from 16 to 19 inches.

I was there on Sunday and caught a few with powerbait from the shore. Water wasn't very cold. Did you catch those on a downrigger?

General Fishing Tips / Re: Any Surf Perch and Striper intel
« on: October 04, 2017, 11:24:56 AM »
Hey guys, I've been out of touch on the striper and surf fishing. I used to do good perch fishing around Ocean Beach and San gregorio. My nephew has been trying to get into fishing and so far 0 out of 12 outing. I feel bad that he really wants to like it and I dont want the flame he has burn out. Any intel will be greatly appreciated. Please you can PM me to protect your hidden secrets.  :smt002 thank you so much!!

Taking family to either Rio Del Mar or Manresa for some surf fishing this Friday 10/6. I've never surf fished myself and I don't want to disappoint the little kiddos either. Any intel in these areas? any tips/advice on how to surf fish, reading the waves/tides would be much appreciated. I will be rigging Carolinas with Gulp Sandworms (Camo). Thanks!

General Talk / Fishing around Denver, CO
« on: March 21, 2017, 09:31:20 AM »
So I found out my job is moving to Denver, Colorado and I have to make a decision within the next few months if I want to make that move. One of the factors affecting my decision is fishing! duh.

I was wondering if anyone is from Colorado or has personal experience fishing in Colorado. How's the fishing? Whats it like?

Thanks

-Dalong

I'll be down for a day trip or two, depending on my luck. I'd stay overnight but I dont have a tent. I could just sleep in my car if someone has a site they can share?
