HydroSpider - It sticks, but is it durable?

That Flex Seal stuff looks kind of like Henry Roof Cement, but in a spray can.

You can't beat a good plastic weld job.  We like to weld extra thick skid plates to certain vulnerable rental/demo kayaks.

Im still in the first phase of testing.
I will know after a few more applications and then I'll test to see how it does vs. a rocky shoreline.
You cant let it dry with the tape still on so I have to re-tape after it dries then give it another dose. I think 3 coats will do it but it takes some time.

No, this will not replace a plastic weld. But what I hope to learn is if it will do a quick repair on an extended trip.
I have torn through multiple boats and once was on day 2 of a 9 day trip. It wouldve been great to have something better than shoe goo and duct tape for the remaining 7 days.
The other possible function is to lay a few coats on hot spots to protect the hull so you don't get to a point that your boat needs a weld.

Way to TOFTT !!

So, do you think this might be some thing that could be sprayed on fabric in order to make a waterproof skin for a skin-on-frame kayak?

If it seals the screen door on the bottom of a boat, why not?

After hopes of finding a product that could create a rubber bumper on plastic boats I learned that Flex Seal does not cure as hard as I had wanted. The first coat was very promising and looked like it made a strong protective skin over the plastic.
The second application also seemed to be working well but the third showed that the product is more like tar than hard rubber. It will still offer some protection but not as much as I had hoped for.
I also learned that the Flex Seal can be removed with some work but I going to leave it for now.
It seems to work better than paint on plastic for those who like to put their names on boats and I believe that It will work as a temporary seal on a damaged boat as it cures reasonably fast.

Im going to try something closer to latex next.
