I got sick last week and missed my opportunity, but looks like things are coming together for another try at Ocean cove tomorrow, wind and surf are laying down as we speak! Who is in?!? I need someone to fish with!!

I'll be there with my brother-in-law. I plan to launch at 6:30; he'll probably show up a little later. Grey camo OK T13, channel 69.

Sweet! I’ll look for you!!

HOw much is OC charging to launch nowadays? Ugh I hate that stupid hill

Looks like it's $8 for launch - agreed.

Plus I believe the $10 day use. There is a sign at the top of the ramp that I only glanced at during simply. I believe it was $8 if you had already paid for camping or $18 with day use included.

The $8 is only if you want to drive down the launch. If you walk it down it's only the $10 day use fee.

Nice morning, met up with Gallywick, who gave me a few good tips. Caught a bunch of RF, a 24" ling and a 19" cabbie. Looks like he picked up some nice fish too. My bro-in-law showed up and caught a couple of nice vermillions, then the wind came up, more than forecast. The bite died for me and I lost a couple of swimbaits. Picked up a couple of more RF, fog came in and we called it a day. The day just reinforced my commitment to get out there early - my best fishing happened before the sun came up.

I ended up launching north of you in Salt Point and I was hoping to drift south and say hi. There ended up being a pretty fast north drift so I stayed north. I’ve never launched at gerstle cove and wanted to scope it out. Not a solo launch friendly place by any means.
I did really well with lings, catching more than I could keep track of and keeping 2 for eating. Mixed in were some quality sized Rockfish as well.
Did you notice all of the jellyfish? There were thousands and thousands of them. Also long strands of what I assumed were jellyfish eggs everywhere.

Nice. I haven't gone out for rockfish once this season.
I am getting the itch bad.
