I am a California native who has been temporarily transplanted at Ft Lewis WA. until March 2010.  Since being here I have caught some incredible salmon from the yak but only recently have I started using a fly rod.  When I move back to Ca. I want to get serious about fly fishing for stripers.  I think they will make a good substitute for a 16lb Coho pulling off everything but 20 feet of my backing :smt003
Dont get me wrong..Im a hardware-rockfish guy at heart :smt007...but if there is anyone who has experience with these fish on a fly please let me know.
Thank you,
Brian
