Title: Not exactly a tree house
Post by: DG on November 18, 2017, 02:43:18 PM
I got the base and floor done for my grandsons fort/club house.  ItÂ’s next to a tree but didnÂ’t have proper tree placement to support one so I built it on logs.  Complete with a trap door.

Who else is building the treehouse/play fort they never had.  I think cardboard boxes was about the best I ever got.

Looks nice so far Duane.

Have considered a small Crow's Nest in that tree? Maybe an access bridge or something from the fort?

Yes thatÂ’s probably what I will do.  There is also a saw horse thingy and a swing.  Going to add random stuff until itÂ’s badass.

Dude ! Where's the kayak , boat , canoe play thingy going ?  You need to get them primed early for the big blue.

At least one has a mask and snorkel.  Need a jr. wetsuit and ones ready to go.  The other one isnÂ’t even 2 yet and the third one is due today but holding out until after my dive tomorrow.

My son and I built something similar last summer for my grand kids.  There's a big redwood tree in their neighbor's back yard that I utilized for the treehouse effect.  Hope this link works;

Nice one jerry.  I am using as much recycled material or wood from our property as I can.

It looks like you have 3 trees there that are pretty close to each other. You could use all three trees as a support system. If the trees are a bit on the smaller side right now, you could add an extra brace from the ground, going up along the side of the tree so it’s not just the tree supporting the weight, until the tree gets bigger.  It would be a pretty big tree house. But that’s even more badass!!
