legally with my son.
He turned 21 on the 25th and I finally got a chance to take him out on the town.
First stop was "The Resort". It's straight across from the entrance to Sly Park. Heather, the bartender, used to serve Jackson and I Pancakes at Buttercup Pantry when he was about 3. He and I went there quite often and became good friends with all the waitresses.
This time she served us a couple of beers each, a burger and KILLER nachos. No one does a better job.
She hadn't seen him in years so I though it would be a great place to start.
I would have posted a killer pic of the two of them but it came out blurry..I blame it on the bad lighting....OK, me.
Got to talking with a couple of women at the bar. After they had left the bar they came back about 30 seconds later and gave Jackson $20 for his birthday. Never met them before. Either they were way cool or I haven't lost my touch  :smt003...OK, they were way cool.
Next stop Powell's Steamers downtown Placerville.
A couple of more beers down the hatch. I was talking to the lady next to me and she gave me a taste of her steamed clams...yea, yea, whatever...but I haven't lost my touch...OK she was way cool too.
Next stop was Bricks, also in downtown Placerville. Saw a friend at the bar and we never paid for anything the rest of the night.
Gotta love being able to show the kid how it's done.  :smt044
Yea, that's a pic of a 5+ lb smallmouth taken out of Sly Park. Not to mention the 21+lb brown.
Can't wait until FRIDAY night!!!!!!!!!!!

Right on Tote.  I don't think I've ever cracked a beer with my dad yet.  He has cleared my refrigerator of quality IPA while I wasn't home though....don't think that counts.   :smt003

Father/son rites of passage -- good narrative. For my son and I, it was cigars when he was 18; he was in the Navy at age 21, so we missed that one, and I have no doubt that he downed a few that night. I smile at the memory, still. I think he does also. Well done, Sir.
