I was bass fishing at a local small lake the other day. This lake does not allow gas motors, electric is Ok.

As I was paddling around in my Mini-X and doing my best to battle the wind, I noticed a gentleman cruising around in a nice little inflatable boat. The craft had an electric motor and the guy was sitting very comfortably on a pedestal seat. He told me he bought it from Sea Eagle as a package deal including the electric motor.

I did some research and found it to be the Sea Eagle 285. I also noticed they have some package deals available.
Doing my due diligence and reading reviews, some people say the Sea Eagle falls apart after a few years of service.  I'm not really sure if this is true. Then again, my wife told me I might only last a few years too. :smt044

My question to the group is, do any of you have any experience with Sea Eagle? It looks like a good boat, but I would like a little input as to the quality of the product.

Thank you,
Al

Had a Sea Eagle inflatable kayak for several years. We didn’t use it a whole lot but it seemed very durable—never had any trouble with it and it was great for local lakes.
Please don't spoil my day, I'm miles away...

A couple of my friends have the sea eagle 370s and one 380. They require a pretty high inflation pressure and after 4 or so years a seam blows out and is not repairable and sea eagle provides no support bc out of warranty. Aftermarket shops can attempt repairs but repair quotes are almost as much as a new one.

I have had a couple inflatable kayaks from other manufacturers and they have alot shorter life span than hard shells so u should consider inflatables a disposable product.

Good to hear.  Several years would be good for moderate use.

Thank you for the reply,
Al

Thank you for the reply. Sounds like the term disposable would be correct. I'm going to rethink this.
