Eric, you are going to wipe out a ton of WAF,GFAF,MAF,MILAF accounts holding it on Mother's Day weekend  :smt012  :smt013  :smt009

How are teams created or organized?

Teams are a safety feature and a requirement for participation in the competition.  This year Tad is going to track team scoring again and award prizes in the team competition.  I think he averaged the scoring within teams last year, so team rosters can be from two to several members.  Everyone should be able to find a team through buddies who are going to the tournament or just by corresponding in this thread.  I hope you can make it.   :smt001

For the last 15 years, my wife and mother-in-law have had a tradition of spending a week at a spa in Ojai, Ca in early May.  This has been the main reason that I haven't been able to attend any of the GS events.

This morning I asked if her mother had booked their annual pilgrimage and she confirmed that it was scheduled for Saturday, May 12th through Friday, May 18th.

So I delicately mentioned that there was an event that I've wanted to attend for the last couple of years but hadn't been able to because of her tradition to which she replied, "why don't you see if my father will watch the girls for the day."  Knowing that it wasn't a "day" event, especially from San Jose, I just left it at that.  But her response was encouraging.  So much so that I feel pretty confident that I'll be able to attend.
Will have some logistics to work out, but I'm planning on being there!  :blob10: :blob3: :blob5: :blob6: :blob7:

Eric has given me the OK to organize the Team Comp. this year, thanks Bro!

Like last years experimental team comp., you can sign up 2 - 10 anglers per team.

We will use a team average format.

The total points of each team is divided by the number of anglers on the team.

Once signed up on a team you must post a score,
if you don't post a score, don't fish or get skunked your zero score still counts in the calculation.

I will have team signups/scorecards available at the safety meeting at the launch Fri. evening and at the campground that night. Also I will monitor this thread for teams that form here, but check with me to make sure your team is registered correctly.

Your team must be signed up with me by Fri. night, no Sat. morning signups.

This is a friendly competition for fun and bragging rights, but I may be able to put together some sort of awards or goodie bags for the top finishing teams.

Here are  the results of last years experimental team tourney.

Due to the fact that my prior team has evolved without me (Thanks Guys :smt003 )

I will be starting my new team:
"The Long Shots"
I would like to invite My original team mate Kevin Johnson (form TRW-1) to be the first concidered for a team spot. (If a member of the "Lost coast Kayak anglers Crew" could possably contact Kevin, I would much appreciate it.)

Any others wanting to join this team ... I am taking resume's :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

See Ya There,
Eric / Yakhopper
