My Port of Sac trip got canceled this morning because my back is a mess - so that's postponed until Tuesday. I decided to call GoFreeMarine ( https://gofreemarine.com ) to see how to get my map card to interface with my computer.  I was trying to see if Lowrance/Gofreemarine had something similar to how my Garmin GPS64s interfaces with the Garmin Home Port software.

What's available now is on a CD you can buy with the Insight Planner software - that supposedly interfaces with the Insight Pro v16 chip. I believe the woman told me it was $29.00.  I'm still out of luck because my Mac computer does not have a CD drive. Also she told me they are coming out with something "new" - the CD version is really obsolete - but could not say when the "new" software would be available: I'm obviously going to wait.

If someone out there does have a way of interfacing with pre Hook2 lowrance compatible map software and the computer - I'd like to hear about it.
