It has been a while since I been to Fort Ross so I was really looking forward to
going this morning. Made up my own little leader for the trip for some hopeful
ling and rockfish the night before. The water was on the rough side but I came
prepare this time. Thanks FisHunter and fishshim for the recommendation on
Scopace. It really does work. I did not get sick at all and the water condition we
dealt with today was the worst I've been. The punch line, NO FISH :smt010 between the three of us kayakers. Well I can't really say that, I
caught an 8" black rockfish but that was it which went back in the water. We all
decided to leave when the wind chops came.

Hey Allan,
Remember when we were having problem with the fishfinder? It wasn't because
the water got into the system but a couple of the batteries came off the
battery pack. I am guessing when I tried to launch and hit a big wave that the
impact of the water was enough to make it come loose.

Jedmo, nice try on the big blue...even one fish is no skunk for you.  Sounds like a rough trip though.

I'll have to try that Scopace stuff.  My parents live on the coast and I may want to try and do some salt fishing next year for Hallibuts in the harbor area, where the water is flat and calm....baby steps first.  I get sick real easy though from car rides to merry-go-rounds.

Jed,

Sorry to hear about the slow day, sounds like you've made allot of progress (more than I) in your big blue fishing,,,,,

stripers and sturgeon for now, if you go for sturgeon, read the article here on the site and get prepared,

looking forward to next year,

Dale L

I've got plenty....cuz I'm the same....not even a full revolution on a ferris wheel I could go. It is what kept me OFF the ocean for a year(getting to know my kayak in fresh&bay waters) I chose a day to test my problem...it was a 2ft. swell/20miles out....I BLEW CHUNKS!!  then I got the pills and have been out on on Smallcraft Warning days and never even got the least bit woosey...it works and IT'S a REAL_Miracle in a bottle!
Next season you will have to try it out...predicting the ocean is WAY easier than trying to predict that WIND in the delta....IMHO
