For Sale / Re: Promar crabbing gear - hoops and traps

I remember crabbing with you at Rockaway about a week or so ago. I stayed out there a while but lost track of you.

Crabbing  is kind of boring but love the taste of crab so I can’t stop.

Hey. sorry we got separated I went out deep (wasted my time).

That was my third and last time crabbing   :smt044  I love fishing....but bringing a bunch of traps and stinky bait out on a kayak just isn't for me.

Let me know if you want to sell the leaded line separately and if so, how much.

Sure would 20 bucks be fair for the two spools?  Seems like they're going for 25ish per 100ft. You can have the paracord and carabiners with it as well.  I might actually be goin to the city today.

Selling off my crabbing gear.  Can you tell I don't love crabbing off a kayak?  :smt044 No really I just don't have the space for this stuff and I haven't used all of it nearly enough.

2 Promar Tr-632 w/ bait cage/cup and Promar bridals.
This is the one with the drawstring closure.  Only used a couple times.
$60/per trap

2 Promar Ambush 32" w/ bait cages
Used only once.
$50/per hoop

$200 for all?

I also have 2 rolls of 100ft leaded rope.  Can include for free whoever buys at least a pair of these and needs it.

They said they may be getting more in this week.

soo what's a better hoop: one with a big top opening or one with the smaller opening like the ambush?

Nice effort. The sand situation at Brighton is not unlike the situation at Linda Mar by the boat docks. All the sand was pulled away by the surf, leaving a field of exposed cobblestones and no way to wheel a kayak down to the boat docks. This year has been particularly sloppy at LM, and I'm guessing it's just wave erosion. Hopefully next year we'll have our favorite launches back.

I'm having a hard time picturing this at Bo.  Very strange.

have you looked into storage units? i have my revo's in in storage unit in san jose which is very inexpensive (50/mth).  not sure about the rates out there.

Honestly, a storage unit is probably the only rational solution at the moment, beyond someone wanting to make like $100/month to rent me some space in their garage!  :smt003

However, I'm EXTREMELY averse to storage units for a variety of reasons, many of which are purely focused on the resentment I still harbor after $35,000 worth of welding equipment was stolen from my storage unit. After literally years of litigation, I never got a dime back (my younger days).  Folks prey on storage units, hanging out and watching, seeing what people have.  Kayaks are definitely pretty hard to steal, but not that much harder than a few fullsize Millermatic MIG and TIG machines.

It's mostly irrational harbored resentment, I know, but even subsequent rentals I've always found frustrating, especially the limited access hours.  It's not conducive to an early start if you can't even load up until 7am!

sorry to hear about your welding equipment.

i do have renter's insurance as everyone should.  it's a small price to pay for a peace of mind.

the hours can be inconvenient, but i pick up the kayak the day before fishing day even if they were open 24/7.  kayak get's locked onto the truck rack and into the apt parking garage they go for an easy morning.
