So, I subscribe to a bunch of cool sites and one of those is from the great folks at Clavey Paddlesports in Petaluma. Today I received their newsletter and it had something I wanted to share. - They have a class offering for Sit-On-Top kayaks that looks like it is just the ticket for us and new folks particularly, you may want to check it out!

Get ready for the 2016 paddling and fishing season !

Paddlers with sit on tops and kayak anglers, this is the class for you ! Maybe you’ve already invested in a sit on top kayak for recreation or fishing, and you want to learn more about self-rescue and safety. We’ve developed this class for you. Sit on Top kayaks offer great freedom on the water, but should you fall out, they do require some knowledge and technique to recover. In this class we’ll get wet; and utilize practical and effective techniques for righting your kayak and re-entering it. We’ll also cover other common safety topics that every kayaker should know. If you already have a boat, plan on bringing it ! Otherwise we’re happy to provide one. We’ll also supply PFDs , wetsuits and other safety equipment.
