so I finally have my new fishfinder the raymarine ds400x good for 2000 feet should work real nice at
mosslanding and any other places that has deep water + I have an in haul transducer and a paddle wheel that came with the unit

the transducers are huge but then they are duel frequency 50/200 the paddle wheel transducer I have on a
removeable mount this is what I will use on harbor launches you can see what a drag this transducer is so it wont be going
on long trips the in haul will be used the most

will be starting my vacation soon so you should be seeing more of me
on the water seeya soon

nice rig/pics!

Do you ever have any problems with kelp clinging on your transducer?

You have quite a setup.  :smt004
You must really like the color green. :smt003

I have my transducer setup behind me, and I wonder when I see fish or structure.  Does that mean I would
have to paddle backwords to sit on top of it?  Just a thought.  Maybe it is better to have the transducer in front.

duane...did you do a custom chop job on the back of your yak? I was going to have a welder buddy of mine try to fabricate a custom L bracket for the stern of my OK Prowler to mount my wide-side (2nd) transducer.

I have a quadbeam transducer in hull but it's nowhere near as big as the beast you have...yowzah!!!

Yes I like the color green because it is an earth tone
I don’t like bright colors at all

As far as the back of the kayak it is unmodified I just made a mount out of plastic
and used the rudder mounts and two stainless cap screws + a rubber gasket.

As far as the placement of the transducer with mine right under my ass
I can see my rig bouncing under me most of the time it all depends on how much lead you Have on.
So let’s say you are fishing on your anchor and you are in 30 feet of
Water but there is a fast current flowing if you only have say 2 oz,s
On your line it will be swept away out of the range of the sonar
So what you want to do is hang some more oz,s on your line
until it comes in to view on your sonar screen.  :smt006

This is very important when you are mooching for salmon
Or you are making bait, so if you can see the bait balls
And you can see your rig under you making bait can be real snap
Plus you can get your bait right in the schools of salmon
Plus you don’t have to count out 40 or 50 pulls to get to the fish.

But I may try to run the Trans in the front of the kayak and see
What that will do as far as keeping the rig on the screen
Maybe I will try the back of the yak to but I got this thing dialed in
Real nice so maybe I will just leave it the way it is?
