Anybody else see the date posted for Albion is September 16th? Or is this a scam? Haven’t seen it posted anywhere.

Sure hope we can make this happen.  Any update on a date?

They would really have to be trying to make an example out of you in order to give you a ticket. It is not as strict here as it is down south or up north. Surfers are not being kicked out of the waters here. I would think the biggest chance of getting stopped would be on the road. "Why's that guy hauling a kayak?" pulls you over to chat

A friend of mine gave me a few tips on where to go in central Ca and I drove there just fine.  Saw fish and game on the water who just drove by and waived.  Parked off the street had park ranger drive by me on the beach as I was pulling my yak down I waived he waived no one cared

I get it, but you live in SR ,and drove how far ,with the "potential " of being a carrier, you could be asymptomatic .And "IF" a scenario  were to arise that you needed assistance then you could "possibly" expose others.

In the "spirit " of the order driving that far is not helping to flatten the curve .

Different agencies and municipalities seem to have different criteria, someone posted a sign from Marin County about not accessing or driving to areas that aren`t local or something to that effect. That`s the only one I`ve seen.

Again a lot of "IF`s"

Whatever you choose dude, be safe.

I haven’t left my house in a month.  Not showing any symptoms didn’t come into contact with anybody or anything but my own property.  I went from the inside of my car to the beach without touching anything but my own personal belongings.  Pretty sure there’s no harm or foul in what I did.  I did however see people running and surfing and practicing safe social distancing rules.  It’s nice to see that we can actaually be decent human being and respecting the “laws” of this virus that we’re allowed to do.

Stupid

Yes, that meme is stupid. Going fishing doesn’t mean you don’t need to go grocery shopping. All it means is that you’re gonna spread the COVID that you acquired
In the Santa Rosa Costco to everything your dirty mitts touch on the way to your out of town fishing trip.

I’ve been isolated in place for nearly a month now given that my work slowed to a halt a long time ago.  Me finally getting out of the house with 0 symptoms touching nothing but my own personal belongings is not selfish you’re just stupid
To go on an out of town fishing trip (or any non-essential activity) is selfish and the act of someone who thinks that they are too good for the rules that literally everybody in the state is being asked to temporarily abide by.

I friggin love Halibut fishing. I dream about it all year. I have prime halibut tides for my favorite spots marked on my calendar months in advance. Halibut are currently biting. Am I halibut fishing? Fuck no.

I work in an environment, that at times looks too damned close to that picture of people shopping. And is now considered an essential service.

But in your mind, getting out on my own, or with my two sons, in an isolated area well away from everyone else is selfish?

IMHO, you can go eat a BOD.

Others opinions may vary.

It’s selfish (and a clear disregard for the SIP order) if and only if you have to travel to get to the aforementioned secluded spot. I didn’t make up the definition of selfish, nor did I make the SIP order, so perhaps your anger is misplaced.

Well went fishing this weekend.  It was an amazing day on the central coast.  Beach launched both days didn’t come within 500’ of anybody except a couple other guys on the water who were still probably 100’ away asking me how I was doing! Came home with enough fish to feed my family for the next few days.  Also did a dive and came home with some fresh mussels and a few scallops.  Was able to spear a couple rockfish as well!

a lot of you guys may be old and petrified of someone running up and sneezing on you I get it.  But don’t be so quick to judge us that are able to go out into public responsibly and stay isolated from others.

You can be responsible and still fish especially on a yak and keep your distance.  It’s not like I’m going to alameda the the ARW and lining up shoulder to shoulder with dumbass’ on the rock wall.

Fact is I got a lot of scrutiny from a lot of you guys I’ve met at Albion.  Who I had a lot of respect for.  But Jesus Christ you showed your true colors.  Some of you are disrespectful cunts.  Not a good look to the noobs that want to be welcomed like I once did years ago.  I’m not very active because I had my first child last year but that doesn’t mean you should just bombard me with hate!

If I was saying “WHO WANTS TO GO FISHING WITH ME” then I would understand the backlash but I didn’t.  I simply asked for a recommendation on where to get out on the water for the first time in 11 months.

Desperately looking for a place I can launch for rockfish.
Really? For rockfish?  Why not just catch them from the rocks/shore.  I bet I can catch a better bag of rockfish yand lings from shore tomorrow than you would get in your kayak offshore.  Drive to SoCal for rockfish?  How stupid.  Drive to SoCal for yellowtail, sheepshead, or wsb, but hell no for rockfish.

I’ll take that bet anyday.  Drove down south got a limit of lings and cabs in 3 hours

You know I’ve always liked this group but with the responses I’ve got I can see why nobody like ncka.  Bunch of entitled assholes

Emotions are clearly running high a lot of you guys are really over reacting to us enjoying the putdoors away from all people

Try here but park around the corner and wheel your yak the 3-4 blocks.

Whoa! A lot of negativity from this post!  For all you naysayers what’s wrong with self isolating on the water? Also I didn’t put any place on blast a kid who wants to be a lame ass YouTube star did by blasting it over every Facebook fishing group in California.  I messaged a select few like she asked and kept it discreet.  All you saying you need to chill are the ones that need to relax.  I’m looking to stay away from everybody by being in the middle of the ocean with only me and my kayak.  Nobody’s contracting a virus by being on the water.  Also fishing is deemed essential so go F yourself! Jesus

Desperately looking for a place I can launch for rockfish.  Timber cove was good until some kid blasted it all over Facebook into every fishing group in California and drew the attention of the health department which prompted a call to Brenda to have her close to the public.  It not only hurts us but her revenue as well.  If anybody knows of a place to park and launch it would be greatly appreciated I’ll drive to SoCal if I have to.

ALSO WHEN IT DOES OPEN MAY 7th she said unless things get worse.
PLEASE GO AND SUPPORT BRENDA AT TIMBER COVE
SHE NEEDS OUR SUPPORT TO STAY OPEN AS SHES BEEN STRICKEN WITH A TON OF UNFORSEEN EXPENSES THESE LAST COUPLE YEARS

General Talk / I’m BACK
« on: April 18, 2018, 09:35:29 AM »
Hey guys,
Been gone awhile the Santa Rosa fires really set me back and forced me to uproot my life in Santa Rosa along with a couple random deaths in the family I’ve been MIA.  I’ve received a ton of messages that I’ll try to respond to in the next couple days.  I appreciate all the love and support while I’ve been gone from a few of you guys.  Happy to have my life back in order again and looking forward to getting back on the water this weekend.  Pics to come.
