Hey NCKA, My family and I would like to invite you to the 4th Annual Camp Arbuckle. This is a free event that my family puts on every year up in the North State. We paddle and Fish 3 lakes over 3 days with lots of incredible food mixed in. My parents (Joe and Terri) have some property outside of Redding near Mount Lassen National Park. They open up their home to all types of padders. They are tucked away in the pine trees at about 4000' elevation above all the heat of the valley. There is lots of room for RV's tents, and they even have a little hostel that sleeps up to 10 people. Last year we hosted around 60-80 people and we hope to see that grow. Some of the boys from the North Valley Slayers will be kayak fishing with us each day. Their house is also right by Lake McComber which is a PG&E lake with no motors. It's a great trout spot. Also Saturday Night is the Reel Paddling Film Festival and we have rented a old movie theater to watch the show. Here are the details my parents put out. Feel free to contact any of us for more details. I would love to see you guys there!

Hey all, it's getting to be that time again for the best time of your life. That's right, Camp Arbuckle time. We are doing something a little different this year, there will be a fee of $15.00 per paddler for the whole event including the Reel Paddling Film Festival. On Friday July 11th, we will meet at Whiskeytown Lake, Oak Bottom at 11:00 AM. Please bring a lunch, plenty of water and sun screen.

We will meet back at the shop Friday evening for a BBQ as we await for more out of towners. After the BBQ we will migrate to the Arbuckle's for camping and a real good time. Fishing Friday evening at Lake McCumber.

Saturday we will pack our lunches and travel to Baum Lake and view some of the local birds and great fishing.

At 1:00, we will pack up and head to the Burney Theater for the Reel Paddling Film Festival sponsored by Headwaters Adventure Company and Donna Sylvester with Eagle Eye's Kayak Guide Service. This will be a very entertaining and fun filled afternoon. After the movie we will head back to the Arbuckle's for a huge BBQ put on by Jake Arbuckle. He will have chicken, ribs, tri-tip and veggies. Please bring a side dish of your choice.

Sunday we will host the famous Paddlers Dutch Oven breakfast. Then we will pack up and head to Manzanita Lake. And for those that want to paddle the Sacramento River, this is the day for you.

We will pack lunches for all 3 days with plenty of water, sunblock and smiles.

Feel free to bring tents and RV's or sleep in our little Hostel set up for 10 people.

Only $15?  If anything like last year, well worth the money.  Great group of paddlers.  Count me in!!

If it wasn't the same weekend as the Kayak Bass Tourney, I'd be there.
