Mirage Drive repair help

(1/5) > >>

Malibu_Two:
Yesterday, the pulley and the fin rod both broke. Not sure if it was related or both coincidental. Anyway, the pin broke at the base, and I'm not sure how to get it out of the drive. The piece in the fin slides right out. Any thoughts or advice? Pic is below...
Thanks!
Andrew

Malibu_Two:
Do I need to replace the entire mechanism that holds the rod? If so, what os that exactly? This is a 2014 model.

bmb:
its threaded.  so vice grip it and twist, if you can.  otherwise you might have to use some sort of screw extractor.  i don't think there is any locktite on it though.

bmb:
if you can get it out, you will only need a new threaded mast.  i believe yours is the v2 model.  like $20-25.

krusty:
That is where my mirage drive broke too, except the mast broke inside the sprocket. So I had to replace both parts. You could try to remove the broken mast piece with vice grips, but chances are you will have to replace the sprocket also.

The v2 turbo mast is $23, and the sprocket is $24.
