anyone running one of these through the hull?  I had a humminbird 598SI previously, but never used the side imaging and am wanting to get something that I can shoot through the hull.  These strike 4 have killer reviews and are CHEAP.

If you mean placing the transducer on the interior of the hull(not in the water) yes I've done that successfully on my Lifetime Tamarack 10' which I don't own any longer.  There are a few Youtube videos on a DIY transducer mount but I decided to get one of these on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Kayak-In-Hull-Transducer-Mount/dp/B076GZN646/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1532386665&sr=8-8&keywords=garmin+striker+4+mount

Worked great.  I've since moved on to another FF and a new kayak.

thanks I saw that little foam deal for hull mounting.  I'm curious if there is any feedback on these units, and folks who can share their hull mounting experience.  My yak travels on some bumpy roads and conditions so that little foam deal seems like it might not stay attached....
