I encountered this group on Lindbergh Lake on July 3rd: two men, one woman, one kid, and two puppy dogs in a grossly overloaded canoe and two vinyl pool toys. How many safety issues can you spot in these pictures? For starters, I should not have been maneuvering that close to them, because the wake from my kayak could have swamped the canoe.

Just 1 big one -- sheer stupidity

These situations are all too common.

What ? They had pool noodles on the canoe... The lady in the back had "Ample Floaties "... :smt044

Just another day on the water.

It's OK , they're good swimmers .

All I care about is the kid had a life-jacket.
Guess it wouldn't do him much good if he floated to safety and his parents drowned, though....

Darwin at its finest! At least they remembered to bring there bow, in the case too.... is bow hunting even open there now ? How the hell they planning on transporting any big game? :smt044

Yup. Amos and I encountered a woman paddling a SIK (no PFD) while towing two young girls on SOTs (both wearing a PFD). The woman asked me if I could take one of the girls in, but the wind and wind waves were so gnarly that such a maneuver would have made a scary situation a dangerous situation. Amos and I opted to escort the woman to the ramp. I told the lady that she should be wearing a PFD and that her girls would never forgive themselves if they watched their mom drown.

"Ample floaties"...haha!

In Montana, the big game archery season doesn't start until September. I think they brought the bow along for entertainment and practice. They had a foam archery target tied on top of the coolers in the rear pool float.

Have to make a separate trip. I tow a kayak when I hunt alone, or one of us waits while towing meat across the lake. Easy peasy

Beer cooler is too far away and wife is too close? Is that guy in front violating a dog too? Man I wish I was back in Montana again. That vacation went by way too fast.

O come on guy loosen up you can do anything on the water or boat
Yesterday at the lake guy were pulling a boat out and one guy was standing on the trailer tongue if he lost his balance the boat would help him fall in front of the wheels
A wake boat was doing what it's designed for creating a wake in the no wake zone and maybe 30 feet from the dock I can only imagine what would have happened if someone was boarding perhaps a child when crushing blows from the pitching dock and boat came togather
Years ago we had a jet ski jump a wake and land killing half the family on board and a guy that literally took his own head off diving off a cliff he was decapatated at the neck when hitting rocks below the water it took a week to find the head
The lists to long love and hate living near so many lakes
Just be safe as resonable
