Hey gang  :smt002

Looking for input on rudder systems for my X-Factor, and wondering if anyone has some pics of their setup?  I've only used a rudder on my Hobie, but I've never tried one on another ride and really dont know what to expect.  Thinking about having this installed next week in prep for GS6, and hopefully it will make trolling for Salmon a little easier for me.  :smt002

I installed a crack of dawn rudder I got off Amazon for $89.99.  It took lil while to install only cause it was my first time.  The pedal controls kinda suck so I may upgrade to the sea-lect foot control systems which work like a gas pedal http://www.duckworksbbs.com/hardware/canoe-kayak/rudder-fb/index.htm
I Havnt had a chance to use it yet though.

I installed a rudder on my X-Factor and promptly removed it. Like Matanaska said, the foot controls SUCK! I have the whole setup in the garage somewhere...  I might sell it if I can find it.

Hummmm... I was wondering the same thing, can you ellaborate on how they suck?   :smt044  I was a little worried that it wouldn't feel very supportive?  I was also looking at the gas pedal like system, but wasn't sure how to adopt it to an X-Factor since it looked like it was more for SIK's.  Maybe i'll give them a call and see if they have any customers that have attempted that.

To get that battleship to move, you have to dig a little. Not having solid footing for me was a deal breaker, and I never looked back.

Maybe I will take a look at the "gas pedal" style too.

Hopefully it wont blow!

If you want to find a new home for the rudder pm me.  Sucks or not I might be interested in it.
