Martin, Dave , and I arrived the Chabot Lake in Vallejo around 8:30am.  It's another foggy morning but beautiful after the fog burned off.  Dave hooked and "almost" land a big fat LMB  :smt009  Martin caught a nice size Trout with the Kastmaster while high-speed-trolling.  As for me, I tried both ends of the lake and also mid lake, offer the Kitty: live minnow, jumbo prawn, Mackerel, chicken liver but no taker  :smt010 (I think there's no more catfish in this lake  :smt003).  It's strange that I haven't seen anyone catch more than 1 fish here! Here are some pictures of the day...

That lake gets hammered big time for it's catfish actually Sonny. They are still
around but you have to look for them hard. WTG on the rainbow Martin.
Dave's LMB came unbuttoned purposely I think. He didn't want to clean any fish
today. :smt005

nice try sonny.  probably better in the summer when they start planting catfish.  power drifting for catfish is usually a bit less successful than anchoring and waiting.  i know a couple of spots for them but its not quite time yet.

I anchored and fish approximately 2 hours for each end and mid lake (6 hours total).  This lake is not that big!

Maybe you'll have better luck from March into April.  Thanks for the report.

Sonny,
Thanks for the report, the pictures and the company on a very slow day on a very small lake.  I think I may have caught the only fish in there.  I didn't see a single fish caught by those fishing the shore or the dock.

Sonny,

are you still using that fancy gear,  gotta get a broken down rig that barely works, then you'll catch'em.

Glad to see you hitting it hard,

Damn Sonny you have been ripping it up. Seems like you have been fishing everyday since the New Years.

All my gear has been collecting dust since mid December brother. I haven't even bought my fishing license yet.

I'm glad you and the boys are out there getting your lines wet. It gives me sopmething to read while I'm stuck at work 80 hours a week.

80 hours a week!  Are you handling work load for 2 persons?  Hope you save the "extra" OT money for new gears  :smt003
