:smt006 Daniel here. Born and raised in south Louisiana! Just moved to San Jose. Built a trailer and drove my kayak across the country. I know all of about 1 person here (my wife) and I'm looking for some pepole to fish with. I grew up saltwater fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and freshwater fishing all across south Louisiana. I'm looking to fish for anything! Really hoping to find the LMB hammers in the Delta area. I've been trolling around as a guest for a month or so now reading reports and whatever I could on this site to get some info on the area. So if anyone wants to go out anytime, hit me up!!  :smt006

Hey Daniel!

I used to live in Sunnyvale (just west of San Jo - "San Ho" as most locals call it), I now live in Pacific Grove (about 1.3 hours south of San Jo) right on the water between Carmel (Big Sur) and Monterey.

Being new to the area, I'd love to show you around some of the local fishing spots in my area, the only catch is, I spearfish. So if you want to give that a shot, PM me. I have most of the gear you need (wetsuit depends on your size).

Welcome to NCKA!

Hey Daniel. I'm in San Jose as well and have very few fisherman friends close. I'm heading out on Monday if you want to carpool to the Monterey area. I'm also down to do some bass fishing in the local lakes to the south of SJ whenever I'm free.

Welcome Daniel!

I'm from New Orleans too, and most of my family is still out there, but I've been here for about 25 years now...

Hope to see you out on the water!

Sincerely,

Jim

Hey, I'll let you know about Monday. I'm headed out to get my license this afternoon. Is a saltwater license separate from a basic sport fishing license? And do I have to saw my arm and a leg off before I get my out of state year license or will they do that for me? $130  :smt013

No a standard license is all you need. The non-res license is a bit steep, though.
