Does anyone fish from a scrambler. I am considering one as a buddy yak or backup for hard access launches.
Scrambler 11.5
I only fish on days that end with Y

I've paddled and dove off one...

My butt barely fit in the seat...besides that it was fine.   :smt005

I have a Scrambler XT (12') that's served many purposes and still gets used, but I prefer my larger boats.

+1.  My first kayak was a Scrambler.  Still have it.  These days I only really use it for fishing rivers and really shallow/weedy stuff that would muck up a Mirage Drive.

They're wet rides and about as basic as a SOT can get, but when it comes down to it, they can get the job done on fish.  As a friend of mine says "Sometimes all you need is a boat that floats."  :smt001

Thanks everyone. I am looking for a buddy yak, and the price is right on this one. Im  having trouble pulling the trigger, I would like my guests to be a bit more comfortable.

I've got a scrambler xt that I picked up used for very cheap. Being new to kayak fishing, I wanted to get something basic and affordable to "test the waters". Yak has certainly served its purpose, but I am ready for an upgrade. As mentioned, you are going to get very wet - pretty much whole lower body. It's pretty narrow but seems stable and fits my scrawny frame (5'10, 150lbs). I believe some of the newer models have flat rails, but mine are angled which make installing accessories difficult, if not impossible. Also, you're going to have to do some cutting if you want to fit a crate in the back. Nice to not worry about dragging/sliding it up and down cliffs seems to paddle pretty decent, though.

Why are they so wet? Is it scupper location or washover?

Can you plug the scupper by the seat, and get away from the bath? I paddle a ok T13 and am always dry even with the seat scupper open.

I've got plugs in my seat scuppers and they do zero. Scupper holes are oddly shaped, and I haven't been able to find anything that plug 100%. I did my first surf launch yesterday and quickly realized the downside of plugging scuppers after taking a couple waves over the bow. Glad they weren't plugged all the way. Not exactly sure why so much more water comes through these opposed to others. Maybe depth? Circumference?

Good to hear that the tridents are dry! I've been getting very close to pulling the trigger on one.

I also have a 12' Scrambler XT. It served me well for several years before I bought my Hobie. It's a good simple kayak. My only complaint was I didn't like the way it drifted. Seemed like it always wanted to spin around in wind or current...

I still have it, and still use it for crabbing, rivers, lakes, loaning out, kids, etc.

I use a old scrambler as my main kayak  but I only dive off it.   It sucks in every way possible except weight. it's a quarter of the weight of the average 13 foot yaks.  greats for duck hunting because I can drag it anywhere I want to.  I beat the crap outa the thing and have been using it for years, it's simple and has nothing to break or mess up. Zero storage and extreamly tipsy  is about all you will get out of it as a pure fishing kayak.  I am in the process of installing a few 8 inch hatches so hopefully that will improve it storage wise.
