Chuck:

That is the one I was talking about.  While Capt. Jimbo gave it rave reviews while it sat on the lawn, he never follwed up with any post paddle reviews other tha a brief first impression.  This boat has certain elelments that look cool, others that don't, but overall these guys in SA are way ahead of the game.

Good looking yak , no doubt. First I've seen with an open well for a yak. I'd definitely like to paddle one.
I'm doing research now on Fiberglass sit on tops. for an article for paddler magazine. They've actually been around awhile, I have one that Heritage made. Super fast, but if I Haven't paddle it for a while I have to spend a while paddling it before I can cast a flyrod from it. Also there's a few US makers coming out with their own versions of fiberglass fishing sit on tops.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

I asked about their paddleyak kingfisher and got this email FYI

Thank you for your enquiry. We are very happy with our craft and currently cannot keep up with production prior to the summer holidays here. We have just completed a third version of the internal fishing hatch liner which improves the craft further. Capt Jimbo in Florida received the previous version of the craft last year so you might want to contact him for an opinion [see websites].

The Macski fishingski is a ski type fishingski so does not compare [except for them using the same name we have for our craft] and the Kaskazi was done after we produced the first version of our original fishingkayak.

I include some pics.

Let me know what you think. Importing is the way to go if you have the time and patience for it. With the favourable ZAR/USD rate it should be a cost-effective option for you. Our fishingkayak is a workhorse, so made to get on with.
