Title: New to kayakin!
Post by: Johny23 on September 18, 2017, 05:50:26 PM
Seasoned kayakers, please be gentle :smt003  New to kayaking and I got a used Pescador pro 10 as my first yak.  I know its a short of a couple of feet (for saltwater) but for the size, I can carry it with ease up and down the stairs and can miraculously fit inside my CUV.  Maiden voyage last Saturday on the bay and capsized! but I would like to think of that experience as an "eagerness to do a self rescue".

Welcome!  Being afraid is good as it keeps you in check, but gotta calm down, it helps with keeping balance.  If you're talking about the SF bay, be careful, the current is a killer.  Don't forget safety equipment.
