Thinking to check out Ocean cove this Saturday for the 1st time. Wind and swell are looking decent. The only concern is the launch. Anyone has a good source on surf forecast could share with me? Many thanks! James

FWIW~  most usually check NOAA and looking any more that two days in advance is setting urself up for disappointments. A four day outlook to get a general idea on whats to come, but it usually changes, due to good ol' mother nature.

So if your really lookin at Sat.....check it on thurs /fri to be sure.

Yeah, for sure. Early in the week I normally laying out all the potential weekend fishable locations. As the week progress, I make adjustments according to the updated forecast. Thanks!

Unless there is an extreme n/nw swell or overall huge swell from anywhere OC will be fine.

Ocean Cove closed on the 1st so maybe check Timber cove instead. Saturday looks to be pretty flat at TC so you shouldn't have a problem launching there.

Josh and I were at Timber  Cove, the rollers were big but the entry from TC was protected and no problems at all, there were 3 guys from Mendocino County there with no problems at all
Bring $8.00 per kayak and leave in envelope at front.
We ended with a few rock fish, a 22 inch verm, 3 lings, 1 cabezon.

The lady said $10 for parking up only, and $18 if drive down unload and parking up.

Ok so 18 total to unload and park up top.  I remember paying 15 to use the ramp and 8 for parking.  Maybe she lowered her price.

Its $18 total for park and use of ramp. But if there us a group or 10+ at the same time of check-in its $10 pp for ramp and parking. She's pretty cool. And quite frankly doesn't pay any attention to what is going on. Every time I launch she's not there but I always go to the office after. She always asks if we're coming or going. Haha.
But I'm sure during the busy camping/fishing months she's got a tighter grip on things.

lowered not, raised YES!, she's done it all......it used to be a good deal and great spot, then she got swell headed. Back when it was 8 to park where ever there was room and 20 to camp was great......then she's over book the camp and started asking to move tents, kayaks to "make room" for more, until it got too crowded to breath. Good spot to fish/dive though!
