Nope, the scupper wheeleez are smaller. You can carry the large wheeled on the back, just strap em in the rear well. The wheels sit outside the width of the hull. It ain't that bad

the pic you posted is for the smaller wheels

you want the trax2-30

I've been using the smaller Hobie trax sand wheel cart for two years & it works just fine. I guess if you are consistently pulling your cart thru long stretches of deep sand the bigger wheeleze wheels would definitely be the ticket though. I have a home made scupper cart with the big wheels but haven't used it since I bought the smaller wheeled cart. The regular big wheel Wheeleze cart is definitely the ticket for non Hobie kayaks though.

I wouldn't say its necessarily a downgrade if those are the 30cm beach wheels.

I have three different type of wheels and these 2-30 tracks are the best in soft sand.

As for putting them on it is hard if you pick up the kayak and try to set wheel posts in holes.  I just tip the kayak on its side and stick them in and then pull it upright.  Easy to do by myself.

tipping your kayak on its side is hard to do when it's loaded with gear&fish. Unloading your kayak, just to put some wheels on it, sounds like more work than nessesary. I have seen ALL the Hobie OG's use the cart you have. I dont know how to do it, but none of them use the scupper cart(except Alshobie and Salty)......but i dont know anything, I HAVE AN OCEAN KAYAK.  :smt002

Yep.. No way would I tip a loaded kayak.  Pic below is without a catch.  Load gets heavier when that happens.

I put them on as I am unloading from truck bed and it is easy to do before loading.  After being  on the water with all the gear it's harder but I don't mind unloading a few loose items to tip it sideways when alone.  But if someone offers to lift it up so I can slide them in I won't turn them down.  I had the kayak slide off the other kind a few times while pulling through sand.  I guess I never had the straps in the right spots.  So for me the scupper ones are the right choice.  But the other ones still work and are better than not having any wheels.

I've put the scupper carts in before, but not the Trax 2-30.  Its definitely difficult to do it solo with the smaller scupper carts, so its probably even more difficult for the Trax 2-30.

I think the main problem with trying to load the scupper cart ones is that they don't stand by themselves like the wheeleez beach carts do.  This requires you to lift the kayak pretty high with one hand, then use the other hand to put the cart in.

if you could find a way to get them to stand up straight, it would make loading solo much easier.

Just another vote for keeping what you've got... They work perfectly with one person and no need to tip your loaded yak on its side.

I lay my paddle on the sand in front of the wheels as a "chock" to keep them from rolling forward when I drop the yak down.

1) place wheels beside yak
2)"chock" with a paddle
3) pick up stern of yak and rotate it over your wheels
4) strap down (2 straps)

With my Hobie Outback, I wrap one strap in front of the seat and one behind. Works like a charm.
