NCKA site went down so I didn't get any updates before heading out to LM on Tuesday AM.  I did see that Rockaway posted in the HookUp section that he was planning to be there so I knew that I wasn't going to be alone.

Arrived at 6:00 AM and found out what 15 to 20 knot winds looked like and they were blowing towards the rocks on the left...not good.  Surge and waves looked the same as Sat, 7/1.  However, this time I had a scopolamine patch on so I was ready to rock n roll.  Since no one was there I went to Rockaway Beach to see if it had more protection from the elements.  It looked about the same and I noticed that all the surf casters were lined up on that beach.

When I went back to LM I met Bill (Rockaway) and both us stared at the ocean, shaking our heads.  Anyway, rather than get spanked by the wind and surge I thought I should save my energy for another day.  Both of us then headed for home and the holiday BBQ/fireworks.

Smart choice. I was going to hook up with Joel and when I looked out my window at 7am I could see trees swaying.  I have it figured out now. If certain trees blow in the wind then I am 90% sure it is a no go at LM.  Looks like I was right this time.

funny how that went that morning. i too drove from redwood city to LM only to find crappy weather and whitecaps around 630 am or so. i bagged it, went home, unloaded and enjoyed a sunny day at home.

this weather is pretty funky. i don't know if its typical for this time of year but i hate it. if the wind were down now it would be pretty much perfect!
