What kind of release clips do you guys use?  I'm thinking of trying the Shasta Tackle Ultra Release out but have read reviews of you having to dial it in just right to make it work, and only works for one diameter of line once set.

I just use a Scotty release, which reminds me, mine is jacked up right now.

Al, I use seps. the yellow ones. they work fine but sometimes need to be tuned to your line size..too tight and you have to pop the line on a bite yourself..too light and the damn line pops itself off while letting it down

I'm a fan of the shuttle hawk also for my dr. Never used it on the braid though. Just takes a bit to get the tension right to send it down and paddle at the same time

I just saw an ad for a Chamberlain release. Supposed to have vertical and horizontal adjustments. Anyone heard of it?

+1 on the Shuttle Hawk. Works on braid and/or mono for me.

I've been using the last 7 years on a boat though, just make sure you put a little tape to close the little gap.

Seps release the longer one with the plastic tube covering the cable. The extra length makes it abit easier to deploy and retrieve IMO. And those dubro one that come on the shuttle hawk I hate them.

I've been using the small scotty release clips when trolling for trout.

Curious...has anyone used the small scotty clips for salmon trolling, running an apex or dodger + hoochie?  I do have the bigger clip, but I'd prefer to continue using the small clip if I can get away with it.

Won, use the bigger Scotty clip for salmon and put it in the high tension setting. Otherwise you will get premature releases going up current.
