I'm using NRS boots. I think they are the "All-terrain wetshoe", as opposed to the "workboot".
They are like a standard side zip neoprene boot but with a sturdy, hiking boot-like sole. They work great for rugged trails to the beach.

I picked up the " Navy Seal " NRS boot… they are good for walking, have drainage with is great, but I will say with the Hobie pedal system, it's bit much…

getting a boot with drainage is a good idea though

I have Kokatat boots but recently bought a pair of Columbia Drain Maker II water shoes that look like and lace up like a running shoe.  They're made of a quick drying fabric and have drains that let water flow out quickly to aid in the drying.  They're much more comfortable than booties when worn with a drysuit.  The drysuit feet don't get all bunched up and uncomfortable like they do with the booties.  They also have a great gripping sole that doesn't slip on launch ramp surfaces.  I bought mine at a Columbia outlet.  I think they were $59.00.  They list for around $89.00.  They work great with the Hobie pedals.

Hey on a side note, I have  Kokatat dry pants with rubber gaskets at the ankles...I've heard of using bottle caps under the gaskets to help with circulation...these things are killers after a long day out on the ocean...does anyone have any other solutions/suggestions for keeping the blood flow going (I always seem to be out of bottle caps when gearing up and launching )

Thanks again for the wetshoe suggestions!

+1, this all the way!  I have the Powerdrain Cool and the only difference is that mine don't have shoe laces but cords with the cinch tool.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!  Shopped around and got them for $60.

On the Columbia stuff, what size did you need to get to compensate for sock and wader/pants foot?  How much bigger than your actual shoe size? I have a deal with Columbia and need a shoe for waders/pants.

Thanks guys

Same size to a full size larger but several factors to consider.

If using with waders, definitely a half size up, maybe a full size up.

If using with dry suit, either same size or half size up, depending on what you'll be wearing under the suit.  If you really layer up with several layers underneath, half size should be good.  If you go into the store, take what you'd usually wear under the suit.

For me, I purchased a half size up (basically because they didn't have a full size larger and I remember being worried).  Worked out okay though as in the ocean I just usually wear NRS Hydroskin socks and there is plenty of room.  That being said, my feet are usually a little cold by the end of the day.  Because I have the room, I'm thinking about adding a layer of insulation this year.

Hopefully this was helpful and makes sense.
