Damn.. I don't check this site often enough.  All sites are booked so I'll probably just make a day trip out of it.  Thanks for putting this event together!

I don't have a site either, but from what I read in older posts, they are charging per person/vehicle anyways.  So if we can find a place to safely park somewhere, is it ok to just car camp?

From what I've read they are going to have overflow type camping so you should be able to camp if you want.

Plenty of space to car camp. it's where the NCKA demo fest/AOTY awards were held a few years back. The campsites are defined by markings on the parking lot concrete. So people either set up a tent on the grass next to the lot or sleep in the cars/trucks/campers. The spots are spread out in a long line along the parking lot.

I was up there checking things out this past weekend and can't believe the water! It looks great with so much more fishing areas to explore!. Drove around the whole lake and checked out every campground and they are all looking great! Water up the edge of the sites and plenty of areas to fish of the shore too. Planning on going up this Saturday for a night of camping with my boys and a couple friends. Not sure which campground we are going to stay at this weekend might go to  Spanish Flats Campground since it had some cool camping spots that look awesome too. Steele campground still has a lot of the good sites still closed until May 1 she was saying but there is plenty of space for everyone when we go up! I plan on coming up Friday night and parking my tent trailer in the overflow area where there is a lot of room so don't worry about not having a spot. She stated that it will fine to camp anywhere in that area since we have almost all the campsites that weekend. We ended up going way past the north end of the lake and almost to Clear lake, I was smart and brought my chainsaw figuring there would be a lot of trees down. That worked out great and was able to bring a load of wood home. Talked to all the hunters up there looking for turkeys but saw no one had any, I think I was the only one coming home with anything since I had a nice load of oak firewood!  :smt005 See everyone up there in a couple of weeks and if anyone is interested in going this week let me know since the weather is going to be awesome this weekend! Back to Back to Back weekend at Berryessa!
