Another newbie here

Hi Everyone,
I am just another excited newbie that grew up in Northern Cali fishing all the regular spots, Santa Cruz when the salmon are running, crabbing in half moon bay, fishing San Luis reservoir and of course the delta 
I am looking at purchasing my first Kayak after I check out some demos and look forward to reading thru many threads for techniques and basics, safety first and being a student of my equiptment and surroundings will be at the top of my list as well as physical and mental fitness.
Looking forward to paddling local fresh water places as well as salt water soon and of course all advice and tips would be greatly appreciated and takin to heart.
