I would like to see how some of you set up your  Extrasport Eon Angler PFD. I have no experience and you guys have gone through setting up your vest for safety and ease of use

Keep it simple. You need to be able to climb back on your kayak without having a bunch of doodads on your PFD getting hung up. I only have a knife and radio attached to the shoulder straps of my PFD. You do know how to get back on your kayak if you fall off, right?

Thanks Krusty. I got a knife and VHF. I am waiting to hook up with some fellow Kayak people to show me the ropes. Otherwise pay the store for thier class. I have been going up and down the canal in San Rafael and have not ventured from there yet.Like Richard Pryor said"you don't get old being no damn fool"I cleaned that up for the forum.

This is a good point; you don't want your safety device to become a liability.

Also heed what he says about getting back on the yak. It may seem easy peasy, but things can get real interesting when you're cold, wet and covered in gear. My first time practicing self rescue in my yak it took me a couple of tries to actually stay back on the boat after hopping back on. To be perfectly honest I still need practice.

VHF tethered does it just hang or you drop it in pocket? I have seen that knife before what brand??It looks like a combat knife.

The VHF tether is attached to the plastic D ring on the PFD strap and then clipped to the center pocket without the zipper. The knife is a Aqualung Deepsea squeeze lock blunt tip, I use these on all my PDF's.

I have a knife similar to Abdivers, it attached to chest straps, also my VHF (Clipped by lanyard to D-ring, and I attach a xenon USCG strobe to shoulder.  Don't have a whistle yet.
