the well for the Plano box. What are they for? Seems to be for something, but I cant figure out why they moulded it this way.

I use those areas for the rectagular Scotty flush mounts. They fit perfect. Ill ask Mike Stinson at Ocean Kayak for you.

I just bought a 2016 model and was also wondering about these flat spots.  Seems too far back for mounting anything.  Any word from the folks at OK?
