Those guys went from "no way" to "holy shit".

Yup - when the salmon bite at Linda was hot - every time we came in with our limits - there was always an "interview" by the parking lot....we always felt like rockstars  :smt109 ......even the the surfers made the usual comments: "TOTALLY NARLY DUDE" translation: "THAT'S A NEAT LOOKING FISH -  BROTHER!"

Next time we should go in for a couple drinks, which is only fair and have a toast and present the photo signed.
Buck's is obviously a great place to launch for sturgeon and stripers that others will be launching there as well and it be neat for them to see the OG's that put the place on the map.

Hanging photos like that is a good way to attract and keep customers for the ramp.  They may inspire other kayakers that launch there to consider fishing, or guys that fish from the pier and stop at the bar to consider a kayak for greater success.

I bought two beers there.  Pretty nice inside considering the state of the rest of the joint.

Promethe - That fish is a monster! And landing it , especially in those conditions, was an admirable feat... Congrats!

By the way, I forgot to mention = when I was getting my yak ready to launch, the duck hunters hanging out by the bar were talking some trash and laughing

I'll never forget the time a few years ago when I was salmon fishing at Linda Mar, and I was trolling by one of many Party Boats in the bay. These two guys were elbowing each other, pointing at me and snickering. Along about that time, my rod did the big dip, and I landed a nice fish right in front of them. Touche!

PS - Nice site Bill, but I get nervous typing with all these emoticons staring at me...    :groupwave

Erik,

I'd move the text in closer off the edge, if you're gonna get it framed so that none of the text gets cut off by the border mat.

Rather than send it, we should hand deliver it next weekend when we go for round 2, it'll be a little more personal and an Ice breaker for having us yakkers around. I haven't been in the bar, but having all the guys in for drinks, i'm sure they'd hang it in a more prominent place.

you guys did it all wrong  :smt018

you guys should have "photo shopped" each one of us holding the same sturgeon - DO IT !!!!   THAT WOULD OPEN SOME EYES!!  :smt103

Photo looks great - with the bad-weather background - makes us look badass.  :smt066

OK...next project for our official photographer (Mr. Scwafish)....a calendar photo shoot of  "THE MEN OF NKA"  :smt023 For anyone who catches a trophy fish this year will have a spot in the calendar for 2006. WATCHA THINK?  :smt007 We can give the calendar to the local kayak and tackle shops - I think it would be great exposure for our site and our beloved sport.....and since it was my idea.....I should be Mr. January...wearing my fish skin pattern speedos....with a trophy kingfish  :smt038

Well, about 2/3 of my share came out of the smoker last night.  It was quite good, but after eating the baked sturgeon I feel it was a waste to smoke it because the delicious subtle flavors of the sturgeon were overpowered.  I've been fantasizing about baking the other piece that's in the freezer, but the mercury guidelines say I must wait 2 weeks...

The photo is awesome, I agree we should hit the bar after the next trip in 9 days and present it to them.
