Pretty excited about it!

I predict burglaries will not be a problem at your house.

I hope you’re right! Burglaries are pretty much the norm in my “up and coming” Oakland neighborhood.

This guy looks tough and mean, but heÂ’s actually very gentle and mellow. We picked him up from the shelter on Friday, and he hasnÂ’t barked a single time! Not once! We donÂ’t even know what his bark sounds like! Haha.

He was picked as an already neutered stray puppy roaming around Bakersfield, but no one claimed him. The shelter down there was going to euthanize him, but thankfully the Milo Foundation in Richmond picked him up just in time.

He must have already had some training, because he’s already figuring out how to sit, lay down, and “leave it!”. No accidents in the house, and he sleeps through the night without whining!

I definitely feel lucky, and IÂ’m sure he does, too!

We named him Arlo because heÂ’s a Thanksgiving pooch. :)

Congrats......he's got BIG FEET and you know what that means  :smt002
is that a Gunthrie reference?  You're too young to know that stuff Sean (me) too, but my Mom educated us young on that stuff.

If he's wandered the streets of Bakersfield (BF i used to call it :smt044), he'll be just fine!
And won't take no s*** either.
Congrats!

Thanks, guys!

Yup. HeÂ’s named after Arlo Guthrie. I listen to that one particular song (AliceÂ’s Restaurant Massacree) at least once each Thanksgiving. (I wasnÂ’t born yet when he wrote it, but itÂ’s still one of my favs.)

He does have big feet. HeÂ’s about 70 lbs now - not sure how much bigger heÂ’ll get because we donÂ’t know his exact age.

He slept in this funny position for about an hour the other day. Snoring loudly, of course... :)

Hmm... The shelter had this guy listed as a “German Shepherd mix”, but I’m thinking he looks more like a Belgian Malinois (mix).

What do the dog gurus in the group think?
