Shelter cove, Humbolt (dude)

Has anyone ever tried Shelter cove on their yak. I used to live just above the beach back in 92. That was before I started yaking. We would go ab diving  and salmon fishing. Its a pretty isolated place. 23 miles west of 101 through the King range. There is only one road there and back, or u can fly, they do have a landing strip. Also known as the lost coast. If there was a tourny set up for there I might come down to do it. (I'm in Washington now). Although I said it was isolated, that doesnt stop the touristas. But damn if it a gougeous place. Check it out and let me know.

famous surf spot, big flat up there too. I guess the yak might be a good way to get there assuming you don't have landing strip privileges.  if it can be walked, it can be paddled, and given that walk, probably easier to paddle. I test hiked part of the way once, it's burly,  you'd have to be on a mission to hike in there.

patrick, owner of mission fish out of hayward, said he commercially fished shelter long ago and guys would pull cabezon from just outside the harbour off surboards before yak fishing was done.

so it probably is a killer spot all round. but not for the faint of heart.
