My wife and I would like to paddle to Emerald Bay if possible.
What is the nearest launch point?

Baldwin and Kiva Beach are also within distance on a good day.  Kiva is free, Baldwin is not.  Good kokanee fishing between baldwin and emerald bay though :)

edit:  Kiva is a little longer walk to the water.  if you want to be right on the water, Baldwin is probably worth the $8 parking.

Be careful out there. Still a missing kayaker in that area.... Deep water and wind that pops up unannounced. Please wear a properly fitted PFD and dress for immersion. Otherwise, it is one Beautiful paddle. Need to do it again soon. Camera!!! Safe paddling! :smt006
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!

Agreed.  the run up to Emerald is fairly protected from a West wind if you hug the shoreline, but on an east it can be pretty bad.  Frank flipped a few years ago in his Outback and it took almost everything I had to keep upright..essentially pedaling into the wind at a 45 degree angle really close to shore, close enough that I could have got out and waded in.

I did Bliss to Emerald, around the island and back to Bliss a few years ago.  It's a few miles - be ready.  The wind came up on the way back and it was ocean-like.

Really depends on the wind and which way it's going later in the day. Done Kiva to EB and the wind helped blow us back as we headed home.

Bliss in super nice, was just there on Saturday but  got there late and ended up hiking in from the highway near Balancing Rock. If you go on a weekend get there early!
