Great stuff Chuck. CCK and Hobie are lucky to have a guy like you. Sounds like a ball.Dan, thanks for the kind words. The city of Lodi and surrounding areas are lucky to have you and the Headwaters Kayak Shop!

I will be there... I'd like to try this sailing gig so Ill show up earlier in afternoon.
what time will you be there?
I'll try to bring some grub.

Would not miss it! Lindsie and I will be there this Tuesday and hopefully many more. We will be like sponges, soaking up all the wisdom.Patrick.....If you show up, we'll be the sponges! We all wanna know your secrets for beating the huge field of contestants at that last two Fisherman's Warehouse Derbies and coming up with two back-to-back derby victories!
I am going to try to make it, I have been thinkng about an Island upgrade kit for a while now.Dan... Scott GB2 will be there. He's the man with the experience and tools for doing the conversion!
Chuck, having never been on a Hobie, period, would you be willing to take me out for a spin on the Adventure tandem? Don't want to end up in Fiji if I went out solo. :smt005 :smt044Howard.... if there's any wind, get prepared for an E-ticket ride!

Thanks Chucke for hooking us up! Tested out my future new boat, the Pro Angler 12; SWEET ride!!!
Great meeting new NCKA prospects.. they kinda remind me of when I first got into the sport...
Daviators tacos were on point, Scotts pork buns made for a great appetizer and Jed's Cevichi.... well you knew it went fast!
Yup, the best happy hour ever. :smt003 Thanks ChuckE for setting this up for us all to enjoy and hang out and try some new yaks. I'll definitely get one too(AI) but only when my sister get me back. With family, you'll never know when that'll be. :smt005 I'm in no hurry though so no biggie. Thanks for the awesome grubs everybody. See you all again soon. Next time I'll bring oysters and beer. :smt002mmmmmmmmmmmm Oysters and beer! Good too see old bros and new.

My gal Pam plans to retire next year. That demo has me thinking, a Tandem Island would be the ticket for retirement fun. I visualize launching here in Vallejo or Benicia often. Once the TI is purchased the cost per outting would be less than $2.00. Don't be thinking divorce boat, she has put up with me for 43 years already. Girl got a high pain threshhold. Doesn't Hobie-Pam have a nice ring to it?

Hobie-Pam sounds good to me. How does it sound to her?
She will like it. The potential problem could be, feeling pain in her butt or back.

+1 on Hobie-Pam and TI for retirement fun. Not sure how you figure $2 per outing though. :-) I've never sailed in Vallejo or Benicia but I've taken the PB there. Sometimes it can get hairy there for sailing. To many power boats or to much current for me. But then you might know some areas that maybe more doable.
Rey
The $2.00 is for fuel to tow the trailer. The current and wind will be our friend. We'll just let the tide dictate which direction to go. The power boats really don't want to spoil their day by hitting someone. The TI will be so much more visible than the granite colored Hobie sport that I used out there.
dave...
ChuckYou have way more sailing experience than me. I didn't start sailing until I got the AI. We would love to have you give a talk on sailing. I'll be eagerly waiting for your sailing article!
Thanks for organizing. Really had a great time. I can give a talk on sailing if you desire. I will be posting an article on sailing on NCKA next week.

I will be missing the 7-10 & 7-17 events as I will be in a place a lot like Heaven but as hot as Hell :smt044
so who is going to be there tomorrow? I am bringing ribs.In that case, I hope nobody goes but me. Ooops... I forgot that I have to be there anyways. :smt003

Cool...I'm here now and looking forward to seeing you guys. It'll be a small group this time. If you have a Mirage drive needing a repair or adjustment bring it and we'll work on it here.
Yes I am giving the sailing clinic tomorrow.
I suggest something OTW to improve our sailing skills next time.Good suggestion. Lino asked for the same thing.
I had proposed doing a Regatta/Salmon Hunt Saturday, September 8, 2012 launching from Marin and sailing out the gate to Muir Beach with lunch at Kirby Cove on the way back. The salmon are staging now outside the gate but it looks like it will be a late run so a decent shot at an intercept in early September. I have it on my calendar. Let's get it on.Sounds GREAT. Scott, any chance an earlier date will work for you?
No clinic Tuesday, 8/7.
Please continue to post here or PM me with your ideas for future Tuesday Night Clinics. I want to make sure we fresh topics and participants before scheduling the next date.

Hey Chuck
Are we doing a crab clinic next week? If yes, lets get the word out and a head count.
Scott
A Kayak Crabbing Clinic is in the works. I'm trying to coordinate the date with CCK. Scott, Glen, and I will bring our gear and show how we all rig our traps a little differently. The date we're shooting for is Tuesday, 10/16 to give everyone more advance notice and publicity on the CCK website. 10/9 is a bit too soon for many.
