Big Sur 2008

Thought it would be nice to have a collection of Big Sur pics to cheer us up through the winter. May 2009 seems so far away.  Here are some of my favorite fish and people to fish with...

For me it was the best of times and the worst of times...

Great idea.
In late 2007 Northern Boy was a frustrated shorebound snag-haunted rockfisherman,. The final straw was driving thru Big Sur past the miles of fish-laden shoreline and kelp beds. Two kayak fishermen were loading their yaks onto their trucks, stringers full of fish. That was it. I had to get a kayak.

I've only been once, but I'll definitely be going back..........

Don't come to Big Sur if you don't like paddling for miles, going for an occaisional swim or eating man dogs.

Great topic, great to fish with you all!!!  Can't wait to hit it again next year!  Sorry for attaching so many pics but there are so many great memories that it's hard to narrow it down!!!

Let's not forget Mill Creek.  Yet another day of miles of paddling in the fog, through thick kelp, following Eric's GPS like ducklings to a wash rock out in the middle of now where.  Then having the fishing go from nothing to wide out non-stop action until the game clips were full.  Paddling all the way back, landing, then having the surf suck out both GB2's and my kayak while we were unloading.  Man dogs, good food, drinks and hanging with the Bro's afterwards thanks to Scott and the crew, good times...
