I caught it last week at the now "INFAMOUS BEAN".
Just wondering if it's big or small for that species.

Yep I think splashdown is correct.

And 18" is a pretty good size for most RF species

Good thing I let him go!  He was 14yrs old says the DFG.  and max size is 22"~ 23yrs.

Hey Adam, how far out did you hook into that fella?  For some reason I've only ever caught them while fishing from shore.  I'm assuming  that they usually like to hang out in pretty shallow water?  Of course, fish pretty much hang out where they want but its sometimes interesting to think about why a fish might have been hanging where you hooked into him.

I got it in the 20-30ft. range,south of the launch. I was doing a ZIG-ZAG over the ROCKY AREA, hitting the STEEP DROP-OFFS that were going from 15' - 30' trying to hunt down a CABBZILLA.
