I recently purchased a 2017 PA14 and have taken her out twice since I got it. The first time, my legs were cramping up, but that's because I wanted to see what my tiny legs can do. I weigh 160 lbs and I feel ok. That being said, I haven't taken her out to the ocean yet so I'm not sure if I would be saying same thing.

I took her out to the delta this past weekend to do some bass fishing. Also, trolled from B&W and a few mins passed oxbow marina. Not sure how fast I was going but I was cruising the whole time, enjoying being outdoor and fishing. Yes, it's a big kayak and harder to paddle, but its got so much room in the cockpit area. I've paddled the big tuna and that was a pain. The big tuna was a pig to paddle.

Hobie smobie :smt002... Try a wilderness systems radar 135 pedal yak :smt007. I've had mine out a lot since i bought it ($$$) Saturday, in heavy wind and white caps I pulled my entire family (5 kayaks strung out behind me) back to the launch upwind. (yes, I didn't know they were back there, Ha ha funny joke  :smt075) Paddling it for a month before I got my drive was a pleasure too! ALL PEDAL KAYAKS WILL REQUIRE WORK TO GET ABILITY TO GO THE LONG HAUL. The key is to get out there and Look at what works best for you. The motion of the hobie pedal set causes major cramping in my hips but the prop/pedal types don't. They get me right in the leg muscles. (that are getting stronger each trip!) Try try try before you buy. Fall in love with one then scream take my MONEY!!!! :smt044 Good luck on your search :smt006 Then keep Ibuprofen handy while you get to know each other
Come on out! It's time to play. It's time for TROUT Bass and STRIPER. Let go of the hand brake!
