Thought I would share my recent experience trying and buying some kayaks. So the past month my dad and I have been spending quite a bit of our free time researching fishing kayaks and the associated gear. We knew right away that a kayak in the 12ft range was going to fit our needs the best and we weren’t going to buy anything we couldn’t try.

Well a couple days ago we made our purchase of a Jackson Cruise 12 and a Cuda 12 from Headwaters in Lodi. Both units are demos but with little use. Our initial plan was to purchase a Cuda and a Wilderness Systems Ride 115. We have tried the Jackson Coosa, Cuda 12, Kilroy, Native Slayer, Wilderness Systems Ride 115, Tarpon 120 and the Ocean Kayak Trident 13. But Dan the owner, made us an offer we couldn’t refuse. He was more than willing to work with us and give us a good deal, including free accessories and putting the money we spent on rentals towards our new kayaks (which was quite a bit). A good performing and good quality product is always important to us, but good customer service is right there as well. I was very impressed with how Dan conducts his business and I appreciate an owner that is willing to go above and beyond for his customers. Especially, with my recent dealings with offroad and ATV racing companies, that didn’t have a clue how to treat their customers. I would definitely recommend Headwaters.

See you on the water
Matt

Congrats, of the kayaks I've owned, the Cruise 12 is high on the list.  And, Headwaters - IMHO, best kayak shop around!

Now post that picture of the beautiful Steelhead you caught on the river. Those don't come around often, you should be stoked. It was a pleasure serving you and your dad. I hope to see you guys around at some future events.

Great store for sure.
Heading back up Saturday to test ride and probably purchase the cuda 14. Can't wait!

Dan is good people.  I enjoy fishing from my Cuda, and I have a feeling you and your dad will enjoy your Jacksons too.
