In Utah I fish the lakes nearby my house and can throw my monster in the back of the truck with 7' hangin out the back and the cops just laugh.. here its another question.. Just too dangerous for me and the guy behind.. not sure if its legal or not but I decided to go to a rack. Shocked me that I didnt get pulled over on the way here in August, or on the few trips to San Pablo I've made.

Made this from marine rollers bolted and glued to the shell.  A couple of more straps in the middle and its done.  I'll be doing some neighborhood testing today.  Now I just gotta get on the water... Anyone going to the delta tomorrow or Monday?  Let me know..

If you have more than 4 feet hanging out the back you need a flag.  Those rollers look nice and simple.

Flag defined as: "a solid red or fluorescent orange flag or cloth not less than 12 inches square"
and technically you're supposed to have 2 red lights after dark but I wouldn't worry too much about that one.

thanks for that info.. I moved the yak forward and it is more centered now.  The straps moved also and that helped alot ..  Flags are in back..  thanks for the input.

I like what you did with this rack; simple, low, functional - nice!
