Man, I just havent had time to actually finish this project. AOTY, Albion, life, home stuff, blah, blah blah. I finally got the darn thing finished welded and painted this week. Brought it home today and took a few pics. I think I will have around 225.00 or so in materials. 6-8 hours labor minimum. The larger wheels roll nicely but I will get a pair of swivel locking ones for one end next time. Gargae floors are usually slanted for drainage. It fits in the garage great and I can roll it out to have more room or loadup. One thing left is a plywood floor on the bottom for gear box storage. I can make these for 1-4 kayaks with space for gear and paddles. The paddles fit good on the rack as is. I was going to put hangers on for the paddles but why? Taking orders with Dustin next up. I think about 450-500 bucks. Its alot but this a heavy duty rack made right here in Petaluma :smt003

Hey Craig.....how about  putting some PVC rod holders on the backside - attached to the bar that's parallel to where the paddles are? The rods would be on a vertical position and you'll be able to store your entire quiver of rods and reels. Just a thought  :smt002

Super work! Are you going to build a second cart or do the other two boats (or is that three?) in the pictures have another home?

Nice works Craig.  Have you consider using lighter material like Aluminum for the rack?

Sonny, steel is cheaper and easier to work with.

Nice, Craig!

Can you make one with a Briggs and Stratton for my uphill property?

Aluminum would be at least twice as much for just the material. Then it would have to tigged; time consuming=$$$. It would be bad a$$ though.

So what do you do with the other six? Is the rack just for the best kayaks?
