General Talk / Re: Why are pedal kayaks so heavy?« on: September 24, 2021, 08:59:23 AM »
I have been super interested in the lynx as well. The price is the only thing keeping me back. I think that it would work fine on the ocean on nice days. It might not handle rough water as well as my revo but reentry looks like it would be a breeze!

Kayaks / Re: Gear track phone mount?« on: April 13, 2021, 11:19:35 AM »
I have one of these.... https://www.amazon.com/Nite-Ize-HandleBand-Universal-Smartphone/dp/B078LQYYRV/ref=asc_df_B078LQYYRV/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309892393118&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9573309495156692724&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1014361&hvtargid=pla-456473638550&psc=1
I really like it it is high quality and very secure. It is not a track mount but can easily be modified to be. 7
Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / Re: Overnight kayak expedition recommendations« on: April 05, 2021, 11:16:06 AM »
I have been wanting to do this for years! If anyone plans a camping trip to angel island or anywhere on the coast and they would like company please hit me up! There are some books on amazon "sea kayaking the central and norther California" that look like they have detailed information on camping spots and safe landings. I remember seeing a book written by a guy that paddled from Oregon to Mexico and detailed all the landings and obvious hazards but I cant seem to find it now... A trip like this has the potential to be super fun or if planned improperly, a total disaster.

Hi Alex, what type of vehicle/rack are you loading your boat onto? I use a homemade pvc rack extension that allows me to lift the bow of my revo up first. I then reposition myself behind the boat and slide it up holding onto the rear handles. This makes loading my kayak onto my Prius much easier. I also recommend getting some bait wraps with multiple pockets that load horizontally. You can find them in all shapes and sizes on ebay. These bait wraps really help keep my jigs and swimbaits organized and in good shape. They dry out much quicker and they are easy to get in and out of your center console. What type of spearfishing do you do, free dive or scuba? I would imagine you know of some great ledges and rockpiles!

Hookups and Fishing Reports (Viewable by Public) / 1/25 Napa river. New PB striper.« on: January 27, 2020, 12:27:38 AM »
Saturday I went out looking for stripers in the dutchman slough area. I trolled for two hours without a bite. I found a pump with some water flowing. After getting out and fan casting from the levee I got my first and only bite of the day. After a few good runs I landed my new PB striper! 35" and extremely fat! According to the fish and game length to weigh ratio chart I think she weighed between 18-20 lbs. She was caught on a 4" white River2sea D-walker swimbait on a half oz weedless jighead. Great way to start off the year!

If anyone is hesitant about the stability of this boat with its 25" beam feel free to test it out in the pool before you buy it. This boat feels extremely stable once you are in it.
