I have been using Lowrance Hook 5 Hi/Med//Lo scan for about a year. I haven't played with all the setting that much, but familiar enough to mark waypoints and make route, etc. My question is I have never really see the "fish arc" on screen, even there is fish on the bottom. I do mostly bottom jigging for rockfish and lingcod. 120 fow or less. Is there a sensitivity setting I need to pay attention? Or a few rockfish here and there is just not sensitive enough to show on fishfinder? Any advice is deeply appreciated!

I went to fisherman's seminar & learn that if you wanna see the good arches play w/ speed setting. Slower you go you will see longer arches. Also if you're targeting bottom fish, maybe use the zoom function. I use 2x zoom on regular w/ High CHARP & 4x on down scan when I bottom fish sometimes.
Hope this helps.

I was looking for shallow water settings - just the opposite of your question - and found a lot of good information online about the settings for fishing mode, sensitivity, ping speed, and frequency to get the best results in shallow water.

Can't hurt to Google it.

I am going through the same learning process. Look on YouTube. Search for low ranch hook 5 and you will find a long list of videos on how to set up your fish finder.
