Which boat really is the faster?
The 100 yard, static to panic sprint.

Thought it might be interesting to see what boats are believed to be the quickest before
we find out on the water.

The Scupper Pro tw
14'9" long    26" wide     55#s

Tarpon 160i
16' long    28" wide        68#s

Freedom 15
15'1" long     29" wide    64#s

RTM Disco
14' long   25.5" wide    50#s

Hobie Adventure (paddled)
16' long     27.5" wide    76#s

Malibu Express*  (Still working to locate one and may have to substitute with a 4.4)
12'6" long   27" wide      55#s

Going to start documenting in the spring but trying to synchronize the schedules of the paddlers, flag girls, and the availability of the different boats could be challenging. It might take most of the summer to finish and then some time after to edit the video.
The primary motivation is to get stronger and faster in some classic boats, but it might get interesting when these boats are tested against each other.

You know that you had us interested, but then you buried the hook with flag girls. What are your thoughts on waterway? I'd like to see bottom photos before I decide.

About the Hobie Adventure, are you consider pedaling or just paddling?  If pedaling, I think it's the fastest for 100 yard dash.

Shorter lighter kayak will be faster for 100 yds. The Tarpon 120 will out perform the 160 for 100yds. Any more and the 160 will leave the shorter one behind.

Whatever kayak David Fowler (General Lee) paddles. That day in Santa Cruz, his first time on salt, a shark swam between him and Cody. Pretty sure he paddles a FeelFree or StayFree? The one with a wheel on the back? It was throwing a rooster four feet high!

I love the tarpon, but there is no way it can beat a revo16/adventure.

100 yd sprint, Scupper Pro TW.
Lighter, sleeker, thus less drag,  than any of the rest.

I agree, but the old Tarpon dual hatch would be right there. Scupper is for sure fast.

Does this mean there will be a race?
Let’s call it drag & chill…
If so, are costumes required???
Let’s have a trolling lure as part of the requirement.
If I file my Apex down more than 25%, will I be disqualified???
I nominate we do it in HMB in September.
If I stop to land a chrome, will I be disqualified???   Or will I get a hallway pass to start all over???  That is only if I was crazy enough to have a landing net on board.  Who knows, if the wind was going in the right direction, perhaps the net will make me go faster.
